WHO AM I?

Welcome to the Rainbow Gemstones website; a site created with a unique story.

My roots lie in the northern part of North Holland. I grew up in Julianadorp in a Reformed Christian family. From that faith, I was raised with a number of important norms and values. The most valuable, in my opinion, is compassion and a sense of love for others. I still carry this with me and consider it an important part of life.

When I was 12, I discovered that my preference for relationships was with someone of the same sex. The religious beliefs I grew up with didn't allow for this. That's why it took me a long time to dare to "come out" and, in effect, to be who I truly am. Being able to be myself in this has become an incredibly important value and has brought me a great deal of freedom! This is partly why I chose the name "Rainbow Gemstones" :)

The journey here was intense, but beautiful. I was able to discover that it's perfectly fine to think differently about certain things, and as a result, I was able to increasingly create space for another part of me, namely my spiritual side. I am, as they say, a "seer." I often see things that others don't, or only see much later. This allows me to often pinpoint specific pain points or sticking points. Because my life hasn't exactly been a bed of roses, I can often understand from experience what others are going through. Something I would like to further develop is mediumship/intuitive development.

I'm also good at sensing energies in spaces and people. By opening up to this, I discovered that gemstones (besides their many colors!) also carry and radiate a specific energy. It was my daughter (about 10 years old at the time) who first took me to a gemstone shop. That's where my journey began. And I must say I'm happy and grateful that I can now (literally) contribute to this through Rainbow Gemstones!
